Bror Blixen (Room 5)

Adventure, independence, and the start of an African story.

Baron Bror von Blixen-Finecke was Karen Blixen's husband, and the reason she came to Africa in the first place — the two married in Mombasa in 1913 and took on the coffee farm together. Bror was a magnetic, restless figure, and would go on to become one of East Africa's most celebrated big-game hunters and safari guides, later leading expeditions for the likes of Ernest Hemingway.

Karen and Bror's marriage didn't last, but Africa did — for both of them. Bror's love of the bush, the hunt, and the wilderness never faded, and it's that adventurous, independent spirit the room takes its name from, rather than the marriage itself.

Rustic leather furnishings, vintage hunting-era memorabilia, and a bold, masculine palette give the Bror Blixen Room a rugged, cozy-but-daring feel — built for guests drawn to the adventurous side of the Blix story.
